To finish this piece into a door hanging, I trimmed my work with a rotary cutter to measure 11 ½" x 15 ½". I then cut 2 strips 1" x 15 ½" and sewed one along each side of the work and 2 strips 1" x 12" and sewed one to the top and bottom giving me a total measurement of 12" x 15". Using a temporary spray adhesive I layered the top batting and backing and machine quilted the work. I then bound the hanging with 1 1/8" straight grain binding cut from red and white striped fabric and inserted hanging loops at the top while doing the binding so I could insert a dowel through the top of the work. Now you're done!
