The Red, White and Blue
Done in Fusible Thread


This free project will show you some of the capabilities of Charlotte’s Fusible Web including appliqué and independent construction of objects. The finished product is light, with no build-up of layers, and can be folded and washed.


 

Download Pattern:

First, download the pattern in two parts. Click the following links to download flag1.pdf and flag2.pdf:

To open these files, you'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader (download it for free here).

In Adobe Acrobat Reader, click the "Print" icon and make sure you printing on standard paper (8.5" x 11") with landscape orientation. Do this for both parts.

On the first part, cut the top edge off at the horizontal line, and cut the bottom edge off where the lines of the pattern end. On the second part, cut the bottom edge off at the horizontal line. Don't cut off any of the right or left edges. Match lines by overlapping the first part over the excess of the bottom part and tape the 2 parts together.



Fabrics you will need:

  • 3” x 18” gold fabric for flagpole
  • 18” x 12” (at least) sky fabric
  • 10” x 12” solid red fabric
  • 10” x 12” solid white fabric
  • 8” x 8” “star” fabric with navy background in appropriate scale (1 star every inch)
